HP Print Hardware

As both a Senior UX Researcher and later a UX Research Manager at HP, I’ve led and contributed to mixed-methods research that has directly shaped the design and interaction of HP’s home and office printers. From form factor to control panel user interfaces, this work has helped define the experience of millions of customers worldwide. Below is a small selection of hardware-focused projects.

End-to-End Research

Evaluating every touchpoint of the user experience.

Sr UX Researcher | HP

UX Research Manager | HP

As a Senior UX Researcher at HP, I conducted live and virtual end-to-end user interviews to evaluate every stage of the customer journey—from unboxing to setup, management, and use. My research revealed key friction points in transitions between physical and digital touchpoints, and my recommendations led to more streamlined setup & onboarding flows.

After moving into a managerial role, I guided my team through ongoing end-to-end testing for new product launches. Their research directly influenced hardware improvements such as simplified cartridge and ink-tank installation, easier paper loading, and redesigned setup guides—cutting printed materials by 90% to reduce both cost and environmental impact.

Enterprise LaserJet Printers

Bringing Enterprise-class printers out of back rooms with their custom designs

UX Research Manager | HP

Enterprise-class printers provided through Managed Print Services are tailored to meet the unique style and performance needs of any office environment.

As UX Research Manager, I led my team’s human factors research to ensure that all walk-up print, copy, and scan experiences are intuitive, efficient, and accessible. Our work helped shape hardware interactions that meet rigorous accessibility standards while delivering a seamless user experience for diverse workplace settings.

Control Panel Hardware & UI

Improving a primary touchpoint through user insight

Sr UX Researcher | HP

UX Research Manager | HP

Control panel interaction is central to the print hardware experience. As Sr. UX Researcher, I conducted multiple rounds of hands-on interviews to evaluate HP’s first dial-based printer interface. My research guided Design and R&D teams in evolving early, “toy-like” concepts into a robust, production-ready design.

Now, as UX Research Manager, I lead research across all current and next-generation printer control panels. My team conducts in-person and virtual testing, using functional hardware and interactive prototypes to ensure HP delivers intuitive, accessible, and user-centered hardware and UI experiences.
